Fat Loss Steroids

Fat loss steroids are chemical compounds and other drugs that you either ingest or have injected into your body that augment the natural chemistry of your body. While they may sound like a good way to lose weight or to improve muscle tone, they can be dangerous to your health and in some cases are illegal to purchase and use.

Medical Supervision Needed

When fat loss steroids are called for, they should be prescribed and administered by medical professionals. There are some very important reasons for this supervision. But in the medical setting, steroids are generally not prescribed for fat loss.

Steroids can be used to reduce the inflammation in parts of the body or to ease breathing in some asthmatic patients. They are medications that need to be carefully monitored as well as tapered when the patient is going off the course of treatment.

Fat loss steroids are generally created to increase the body's reactions, which then cause it to burn more calories than it normally would. And this calorie deficit can promote fat loss and increased muscle tone. However, the risks far outweigh the superficial benefits.

Learn Before You Burn

The main concern with fat loss steroids is that not only are they untested by the FDA, but they also can interact with other chemicals in your body – i.e. prescriptions, your natural body chemistry, etc. If you're unaware of the interaction and you're taking the steroids without a doctor's approval, you might be putting yourself at risk of:

  • Stroke
  • Mood swings
  • Acne
  • Heart attack
  • Problems with hydration and electrolyte balance

While many of these seem minor, they can happen at any time during your taking of the drugs. It only takes one time for the steroids to cause serious and often permanent damage to your body.

Choose to Pass Them Up

Unless a doctor has specifically prescribed fat loss steroids for you to use, it's not in your best interest to use these supplements as a way to lose excess fat. Eating right and exercising are just as effective and completely safe for your body.

Instead, try to implement these strategies:

  • Eat well balanced meals or six small meals each day
  • Try to add cardio work 5 to 6 times each day, at least 45 minutes each session
  • Add strength training to your routine, aiming for lifting more weight each time you're in the gym

With hard work and patience, you will be able to pass up fat loss steroids and build a healthy and strong body.
